Page 1 of 5 Wine editor Martin de Rusett hand-picks the best bottles for your Sunday lunch table this Autumn
One of the many good things about our change of seasons is the inevitable change of lifestyle that comes along at the same time. Who really wants a traditional roast on a hot summer’s day? With all that daylight to enjoy and so many jobs to do around the garden, a light salad leaves plenty of time to mow the lawn, trim the edges and still take deckchair time with the Sunday papers. Now relish this thought! After a leisurely Sunday roast with all the trimmings, as the evenings draw in, the timing cannot be better. Sit down at one, finish at half past two, doze after coffee til three and it is so nearly dusk that there is no point in doing anything in the garden. So relax again until tea time.
