April edition of Vine launches! |

15,000 copies of Vine's April edition launched across Sevenoaks last week, brimming
with our usual dose of interesting and exciting Sevenoaks-focused
features, articles, news, puzzles, prizes and competitions.
Our cover shot shows a sunny afternoon in the late 1890s. People dash across London Road, a well-dressed mother wheels her buggy from the coffee shop and a young Sevenoaks School boy struts down the high street.
Nothing much changes, does it? Apart from the shops themselves, of course. And the economic climate and increased business rates which make it so hard for independent Sevenoaks traders to survive in today’s tough retail environment.
So what does the future hold for the town centre? Beginning this month, our extensive three-part series on the changing face of Sevenoaks will attempt to shed some light on the issue. Read the articles, see the images and get involved here.
As always, we’re fully interactive so please send us your memories, pictures and stories of historical Sevenoaks for publication.
