Youth Groups in Sevenoaks District looking for an exciting 2009 have the opportunity to apply for free self-catering accommodation at the popular Halls Green Adventure Centre.
The self-catering lodge at the activity centre, which is available for a number of weekends throughout the year, has 21 beds in seven en-suite bedrooms including one with disabled facilities for two people. It also has a lounge, dining room, fitted kitchen and drying room.
The offer is open to any youth groups operating in the Sevenoaks
District in return for the funding Sevenoaks District Council provided
for the development of the Owl Barn at the Centre. Day visits can also
be arranged.
Applications for free residential or day trips will be expected to
demonstrate how the activity will contribute to the Council’s Young
People's Action Plan and Community Plan.
Halls Green offers a range of adventure activities including abseiling,
climbing, kayaking, raft building, a multi challenge low ropes course,
archery, orienteering and fencing. There is also an indoor swimming
pool.
Certain activities require instructors and lifeguards for which there is an additional charge.
Cllr Elaine Bracken, Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet member with
responsibility for young people’s issues, says: "We get fantastic
feedback from groups that use Halls Green, saying what a brilliant time
they have and how much they enjoy it. It is sure to be equally as
popular in 2009, so I would urge any interested youth groups who want
an adventurous experience with free accommodation, to book now!"
